Overview

Hall utilizes his painting, sculptural and photographic practice to dissect raial and cultural dynamics.

Chase Hall (b. 1993) lives and works in New York and Los Angeles. His practice is deeply engaged in historical significance, demonstrated through his paintings on raw cotton canvas that reflect the complexity of his biracial heritage and the problematic history of cotton. Hall challenges viewers to reevaluate how racial relationships present themselves in America through provocative portraits with a distinctive palette and gestural technique.
