Overview

Jahmal's paintings transform commonly encountered objects, places and faces into luminously colored, spatially uncanny realms.

Marcus Jahmal (b. 1980) is a self-taught artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. His work has been exhibited in New York, Brussels, Shanghai, Copenhagen, Tokyo, and Athens. Jahmal utilizes color and spatial relationships to aid in crafting implausible yet familiar environments. As a result, his domestic landscapes transform color and space to transport viewers into subconscious and dreamy lands.
